Chennai Power and desalination Training Institute with its state of the art facilities including elegant class rooms, latest advance PC based simulators, Wi-Fi environment, E-library, a well stacked library, Model room and up to date Web based training, has been recognized by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry of Power, Govt. of India, (http://www.cea.nic.in) for imparting advanced power plant training in line with the provisions of Indian Electricity Rule 1956 and Amended Rules 2005 to meet the power sector requirements.

The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) is a statutory body initially constituted under Section 3 of the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1948 and now functions under the provisions of Section 70, 71, 72, 74 and 75 of Electricity Act 2008.
